πŸ‘‡ Before you try to fix the issue, check the following:

  1. Check the LifeX app, we announce any planned construction works near our apartments as soon as we get a message from our landlords.

  2. According to British regulations,

Noise from construction is limited to:

  • 8am - 6pm, Monday to Friday

  • 8am - 1pm on Saturday

No noisy work should take place on Sundays or bank holidays.

Exceptional work may be allowed outside of these times when there is:

  • an emergency

  • a risk to public safety

So, what can I do? πŸ€”

  • If you would like to report any noises before 8 AM or during the holidays and you could provide proof for it, you can report a noise nuisance to your council on this website.

  • You will need to enter your postcode to find out which council you should report to, then you will be directed to the council's website.

  • To find out how councils deal with complaints about noise, please see here.

  • In the case of public construction work, there's usually nothing LifeX can do. Hence, no discounts could be handed out from our side as it is out of our control.

  • However, we could offer members earplugs or a room swap under some really terrible circumstances.
