What to do to receive your mail and packages? 📬

Every LifeX home has a designated mailbox that is marked with "LifeX + Apartment name" (e.g . LifeX Alfred 2 - LifeX Alfons 5)

Please remember that members are not allowed to put their own names on the mailbox, as the apartment is legally rented to LifeX.


How do I get mail delivered to the apartment if my name is not on the mailbox?

When filling out legal documents, registration forms, or placing online orders, make sure to use the following format:

  • Add “C/O LifeX + apartment name” below your name (or on the same line).

    This will help the postal service identify that the mail belongs to the LifeX mailbox.

❓ Troubleshooting & Common Issues

🔹 My mail isn't arriving!
- Double-check that you used C/O LifeX + Apartment Name
- Confirm that your sender followed the correct format.
- Some services might not accept "C/O LifeX"; in that case, contact the sender to explain the address format.

🔹 The courier says my name isn’t on the mailbox!
- If possible, inform your local postal service that mail for you is under LifeX.
- If you receive frequent mail, consider using a parcel pickup point or Paketshop in Hamburg.

🔹 What if I’m expecting a package?
- Many courier services allow you to leave special delivery instructions—mention that the package should be delivered to "LifeX + Apartment Name."

  • If using DHL, GLS, or Hermes, consider their parcel lockers or delivery to a Paketstation.
