At LifeX, your safety is our top priority. In case of an emergency, our team is here to support you, even outside regular working hours. Please read carefully to make sure you know how and when to contact us.

How to reach us in an emergency

If you're experiencing a dangerous or urgent issue during working hours (9 am-5 pm, Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays), please contact our emergency chat in the app. You’ll find it at the top right corner of the support chat in your LifeX app. Our on-call team will respond as quickly as possible.

πŸ“Œ Important: If it’s not an emergency, the chat will be closed and redirected to the appropriate support flow so we can assist you during working hours.

What is considered an emergency?

Here’s what qualifies as a real emergency that requires immediate attention:

  • 🚿 Water leak or flood

  • 🧯 Gas leak

  • πŸ”₯ Fire (after calling the fire brigade)

  • πŸ”‘ Locked in or out of your home (after trying to get help from flatmates or neighbours, if applicable)

  • If your key is damaged, submit an emergency ticket with a photo of the damaged key and your current location.

  • For public holidays, contact a local locksmith if flatmates and neighbours are unavailable, and prepare to cover associated costs.

  • ⚑ Electricity outage (after trying to reset the fuse)

  • πŸͺŸ Broken glass of an external window allowing outdoor air in

  • πŸ•΅οΈβ™‚οΈ Break-in or theft (after contacting the police)- 🚨 Personal safety concerns, such as feeling unsafe or encountering an unauthorized individual in the building (after contacting local authorities).

Please remember to go through the necessary first steps before contacting us, for example, checking fuses for electricity or asking neighbours for help with a lockout.

Personal Safety Emergencies

In situations where your personal safety is at risk or you encounter an unauthorized individual in the building, follow these steps:

Immediate Actions When Feeling Unsafe

  1. Contact Local Authorities: If you feel unsafe or are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services without delay. They are best equipped to handle urgent safety concerns.

  2. Prioritize Your Safety: Remove yourself from the situation if possible and ensure you are in a secure location while waiting for assistance.

Addressing Unauthorized Individuals in the Building

  1. If you see someone in the building who does not reside there and you feel uncomfortable or suspicious:

    • Notify Local Authorities: For situations requiring immediate intervention.

  2. Avoid personal confrontation with the individual to minimize potential risks.

Why Contacting Local Authorities is Crucial

In situations involving personal safety or unauthorised individuals, local emergency services are trained and authorised to respond effectively. While building management can address long-term security policies and protocols, they cannot provide immediate safety interventions or handle emergency situations.

πŸ“Œ Important: If you are in immediate danger or need emergency services like police, fire, or medical help, please refer to the emergency numbers for your city:Always contact local authorities first when dealing with personal safety concerns, such as feeling unsafe or encountering unauthorized individuals, before notifying LifeX.

When not to use the emergency hotline

Any issue that does not pose an immediate risk to your safety or the property should be reported via the chat. Examples include:

  • Appliance not working

  • Noise complaints (please reach out to the local police if it is outside of the quiet hours)

  • Internet issues

  • Minor maintenance problems

Our team will always respond within a working day through the regular chat.

Misuse of the emergency hotline

Our emergency phone number is only available during non-working hours. Please use it responsibly.

πŸ“ž Misuse of the emergency line will result in a fee.
If you contact us via the emergency line for a non-urgent issue, a 300 DKK / 50 EUR / 450 NOK fee will be added to your next month’s invoice.
