👋 This article is for LifeX members living in Oslo.

If you smell gas or suspect a gas leak in your apartment or building, act immediately. Do not assume the smell is harmless.

🚨 Act Right Away

1️⃣ Don't operate electrical switches or appliances. Do not turn lights on or off, unplug anything, or use the doorbell.

2️⃣ Avoid ignition sources. Do not smoke, use matches, or light candles.

3️⃣ Open windows and doors if you can do so immediately and safely. Do not delay leaving to ventilate the apartment.

4️⃣ Leave the apartment and building. Warn your housemates and neighbours without using the doorbell.

5️⃣ Call the fire and rescue service from outside: Dial 110 in Norway if there is a serious gas leak or risk of fire or explosion.

📞 Who to Call

  • Serious gas leak, fire, or risk of explosion: Call the fire and rescue service on 110.

  • Police assistance: Call 112 if police intervention is needed.

  • Medical emergency: Call 113 if someone needs an ambulance.

Once you are safe, notify LifeX through the Emergency option in the app.
