What to not put in the dishwasher?

🏑 Every LifeX home comes with a dishwasher. As you are now moving into LifeX, it is important that you learn how to use the dishwasher properly so that you and your roommates can take care of the machine together. LifeX's common supplies include the dishwasher tabs, dishwashing salt, and/or dishwasher rinse aid, which should always be available in the apartments (except in Munich).

πŸ‘‰ Before you put anything in the dishwasher, please:

  1. Scrap off any excess food from the dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. If the food has hardened, you need to let the dishes soak first and then scrap off the food. Otherwise, the dishwasher will not be able to wash the residuals off.

  2. Do NOT put the kitchen utensils listed below in the dishwashers, and clean them by hands instead:

  • knives

  • pans

  • wooden utensils

  • bigger wine glasses

πŸ’β€β™€οΈ When you are putting things in the dishwasher, please remember:

  1. Do NOT overload the dishwasher.

  2. Plates will get cleanest if they all face the center of the rack. Place glasses and mugs face down, so that water can reach inside.

  3. Do NOT check up on the dishes when the dishwasher is running, as you'll interrupt the cycle. Depending on your dishwasher, it may take up to an hour to wash and dry.

Thanks for understanding! 🌟
