All you need to know about having visitors, kids, and pets in your LifeX home

Written by Xena

At LifeX, we understand this is your home, and naturally, you may want to invite loved ones over. That’s completely fine β€” we just ask that you follow a few basic guidelines to ensure a respectful and harmonious experience for all housemates.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ Friends & Family Visits

🍝 Day Visits

You're welcome to invite friends and family for lunch, dinner, or a casual hangout. Just be sure to:

  • Give your housemates a heads-up

  • Be mindful of noise after 10 PM

  • Use common areas with closing doors for social gatherings, or consider heading out to a bar or cafΓ©

πŸ‘Ά Children

Children are welcome during the day, but overnight stays are not allowed.

🐢 Pets

For hygiene and allergy reasons, pets are not allowed in any LifeX apartment β€” even for short visits.

πŸŒ™ Overnight Stays

πŸ‘« Partners (2–3 times per week)

  • Romantic partners can stay over occasionally (max. 2–3 nights a week)

  • Always communicate with your housemates and ensure they’re comfortable with the frequency

  • The idea is to avoid changing the house dynamic or reducing shared comfort

πŸ‘ͺ Family or Friends (Short visits, less than 7 days)

  • Allowed on a one-off basis for a few days (max. 7 consecutive nights)

  • Inform housemates in advance

  • The same guest can’t stay more than once a month unless you inform the LifeX team, who will assess on a case-by-case basis

β›Ί Longer stays (7+ days)

  • Must be approved by LifeX beforehand

  • Needs the consent of your housemates in co-living setups

  • These visits should be infrequent to maintain house comfort and dynamics

⚠️ Important Reminders

πŸ”‘ You must already live in the apartment to welcome guests.
🏑 Vacant rooms cannot be used by guests under any circumstances β€” they are reserved for future members.
πŸ›οΈ Some apartments have a guest mattress and duvet available β€” not all, so please check with us in advance if you'd like to borrow one.

βœ… In Short: Respect & Communication

We want everyone to feel at home β€” including your guests β€” but also your housemates. With a little communication and consideration, we can make LifeX a great place to live for everyone πŸ’š
