Construction noise can be disruptive, but we’re here to help you understand what’s going on and what options are available.

πŸ‘‡ Before taking action, please check the following:

βœ… Check the LifeX app – We announce any planned construction work near our apartments as soon as we receive notifications from the landlords.

βœ… Check if it's municipal work – Use the official Paris city map to see if the construction is part of a city-permitted road project:
πŸ”— Ongoing Road Construction Work in Paris

This interactive map allows you to:

  • See construction by type (color-coded)

  • Track start and end dates

  • Search by arrondissement

πŸ•’ Legal working hours for construction in France:

πŸ“… Weekdays: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
πŸ“… Saturdays: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
🚫 Sundays & public holidays: Usually no construction is allowed unless it's emergency work.

If you're experiencing noise outside of these hours, and you’re able to provide clear proof (e.g., a recording or video with timestamp), feel free to send it our way. We’ll forward the evidence to the landlord to help ensure that construction does not begin before the legal time.

πŸ€” So, what can I do?

Unfortunately, in most cases, construction noise is beyond LifeX’s control, especially if it is external and municipality-approved. Because of this, we generally cannot offer discounts related to construction disturbances.

However, we always try to support our members where possible:

  • 🎧 We can offer earplugs upon

  • πŸ”„ In exceptional cases, we may be able to arrange a room swap, depending on availability and the severity of the situation
