We understand that losing heating can be extremely frustrating, and we’re here to help you through it! Let’s walk through the steps to identify the issue and get it fixed as quickly as possible.
👇 Before You Try to Fix the Issue, Check the Following:
Check the LifeX App
We announce any planned heating cuts to apartments as soon as we receive updates from our landlords. Make sure there are no notifications regarding the issue.Check If the Whole Apartment is Affected
Test different radiators in the apartment by quickly touching them. This will help you determine if the issue is localized to one room or affects the entire apartment.
Heating Systems in Paris Apartments:
Electric Heating - EDF (Electricité de France)
For most LifeX apartments in Paris, EDF provides both electricity and heating.
If the entire building is without heat, there might be an issue with the heating pipes or a breakdown in the system. It’s important to report it immediately so they can fix it.
Contact EDF at:
📞 (+33) 0333 200 5100
🌐 EDF Heating Issues
If the issue is in the building and not on your specific unit, it may take a little while for the plumbers to fix it. In the meantime, other neighbors in the area may already have reported the issue, so patience is key.
Gas Heating - Engie (Only for Wagram and Citeaux)
If your apartment uses gas heating (applicable for Wagram and Citeaux locations), Engie handles your heating system. If there's a gas heating failure in your area, please get in touch with Engie.
Contact Engie at:
📞 (+33) 0800 130 3600
🌐 Engie Heating Disruptions
As with EDF, it may take time to resolve the issue, and you might need to wait while the plumbers do their work.
Only One Radiator Isn’t Working? 😭
This is a common issue that usually happens when there’s air in the pipes. Air can block the flow of heat, preventing the radiator from working properly.
To check if this is the case:
Is the upper part of the radiator warm, but the bottom is cold?
Are the pipes leading to the radiator hot?
If you answered YES to these questions, the issue is likely air in the radiator. Please send a picture of both sides of the radiator (where the thermostat and pin are) through the LifeX App, and we’ll send someone over to fix it.
If you answered NO, there may be a more significant issue with the heating system in the building. In that case, we’ll need to schedule a technician to inspect it. It might take longer to resolve, but we’ll try to provide a portable heater in the meantime if needed.
What to Do Next? 🤔
Relax and Stay Warm!
If you’re facing an issue with the heating, our team is here to help. Please be patient as we get everything fixed. In the meantime, we can provide portable heaters to ensure your comfort.
