Dealing with construction noise can be really frustrating, but we’re here to guide you through the process. Follow these simple steps if you're experiencing noise near your home.

👇 Before you try to fix the issue, check the following:

  • Check the LifeX app:
We announce any planned construction works near our apartments as soon as we receive updates from our landlords. So make sure to stay updated there!

  • Know the German regulations:
According to German laws, construction work is allowed from 6 AM to 8 PM from Monday to Saturday. On public holidays and Sundays, no construction work is allowed. 🛑

🤔 So, what can I do?

  • Is construction happening before 6/7 AM or during public holidays?
If you’re experiencing construction noise outside of the legal hours, you can report it. To do this, please record the noise (video or audio proof is helpful) and send it to us via the LifeX app. We will forward this evidence to the landlord and make sure the construction work only starts after 6/7 AM on weekdays and Saturdays.

🏗️ Public construction work

Unfortunately, when it comes to public construction work (such as roadworks or municipal projects), there’s little LifeX can do to control or change the situation. In such cases, no discounts will be offered as this is out of our hands. 😕

🧑‍🔧 What can LifeX do for you?

While we can't always control external construction, we can offer you a couple of solutions:

  • Earplugs:
If the noise is bothering you, we can provide earplugs to help you sleep or concentrate better.

  • Room swap:
In really extreme cases, we may be able to offer a room swap. Please reach out to us if the noise is unbearable, and we’ll do our best to find a solution. 🔄
