πŸ—‘οΈ How to Recycle?

All LifeX homes have recycling containers available in the kitchen.

  • In some homes with Regular Services, only the most common bins (bio waste, general waste) may be available, but recycling is still required.

  • Please check the basic recycling illustrations for your city and visit the links below before disposing of waste.

How to return Pant?

In Denmark, there is a bottle return system called the Pant system. When you purchase certain products, you pay a deposit (Pant) for the bottle or can. When you return the empty bottle, you get your deposit back. This encourages people to return their empty bottles. The empty bottles are then reused or recycled.

πŸ₯› How to Return "Pant" Bottles?

Denmark has a bottle return system called the Pant system. When purchasing certain beverages, you pay a deposit (Pant) for the bottle or can. You get this deposit back when returning the empty container for recycling.

How to identify a Pant bottle?
Look for the Pant A, Pant B, or Pant C label, usually near the barcode.

Where to return Pant bottles?

  • Supermarkets: Use bottle return machines, usually near the entrance or at the back of the store. The machine will print a coupon that can be redeemed at the register.

  • Non-Pant bottles/cans: If there is no Pant logo, dispose of them in the correct recycling bins (glass, plastic, or metal).

πŸͺ‘ Who Takes Care of Trash Disposal?

βœ… Sorting: Members are responsible for sorting waste correctly. Housekeepers will not re-sort incorrectly sorted waste. Incorrect sorting may result in bins not being collected.
βœ… Collection: Trash is collected when bins are half-full or more.
βœ… Housekeepers: They take out the trash only on designated cleaning days.
βœ… Overflowing trash: If bins are full outside of cleaning days, members must take the trash to the courtyard containers.
βœ… Heavy/bulky waste: If an item doesn’t fit inside the bin, members must dispose of it separately. Housekeepers do not handle oversized waste.
βœ… Glass disposal: Broken glass must go in the residual bin, but wrap it in paper first to avoid injuries.
βœ… Pant bottles: Housekeepers do not handle Pant returns.
βœ… Extra cleaning: Housekeepers do not take care of overflowing bins, full trash bags, excessive waste from private parties, or unbagged trash. In Regular Service Apartments, members must purchase their own trash bags.
