Having the heating cut off is extremely annoying — we totally understand how frustrating this can be, especially during the colder months. But don’t worry! Here’s a guide to help you check what’s going on and what to do next. 👇
🕵️♂️ First steps – Check the basics:
✅ Check the LifeX app – We post any planned heating interruptions as soon as we receive updates from our landlords.
✅ Touch all the radiators – Is the heating issue in the whole apartment, or just in certain rooms?
🔧 Check with the heating provider
In Aarhus, HOFOR isn’t the heating supplier — it’s more relevant in Copenhagen. In Aarhus and other parts of Jutland, heating is typically managed by local district heating companies such as:

🌐 Driftstatus – Aarhus Fjernvarme (in Danish)

Still, some LifeX apartments may be connected to smaller or private systems — so always check with us via the LifeX app for confirmation.
📍 Still no heating?
If it’s not a known outage, here’s what might be happening:
🛠️ It could be a pipe or system failure
If all radiators are cold and no maintenance is announced, there could be a blown pipe or urgent issue. These can usually be fixed within the day by plumbers — please report it to us immediately via the LifeX app.
🧐 Could it just be air in the pipes?
This is one of the most common causes of heating issues! Here's how you can check:
❓ Is only the top part of the radiator warm, but not the bottom?
❓ Are the pipes connecting to the radiator hot?
👉 If you answered YES, it’s likely air trapped in the system, and we can help you fix this quickly.
📸 Please send us a photo of both sides of the radiator (where the thermostat and pin are) through the LifeX app.
🔧 What if the entire system is down?
If none of the radiators work and the pipes are cold too — and there's no external maintenance — then it’s probably an issue with the building’s central heating system.
In this case:
We’ll need to schedule a technician visit 🛠️
This may take longer to resolve, but we'll keep you updated
