We are excited to have you join our community, and want to ensure that we all work together to maintain a clean and orderly home throughout your stay with us.

As you may know, our housekeeper comes every two weeks (Regular Services - subject to change depending on your city) to help with the cleaning and upkeep of the shared spaces. While our housekeepers are a valuable asset to our community, it is important to understand that they do not deep clean the apartment, it is expected that members take care of the cleaning in between housekeepers’ visits as well.

That is why we have created this cleaning framework, to guide you in keeping your apartment clean on a daily basis. That can be applied whether you live alone or with flatmates.

Here are some tasks that you should do on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to help maintain a clean and orderly home:

🍽️ Kitchen

Daily

  • Wipe down countertops, stove, and wall behind the stove after cooking to remove any food particles or spills.

  • Use baking paper or aluminum foil when using the oven.

  • Clean up any spills or messes as soon as they happen to prevent any permanent damage to surfaces and/or furniture.

  • Use the dishwasher or wash dishes and put them away after use to prevent any bacteria or mold growth.

  • Wipe the sink after use and remove leftovers.

Weekly

  • Sweep and mop floors once a week to remove any dirt or debris that may have accumulated.

  • Wipe down the refrigerator and freezer once a week to remove any spills or food residue.

  • Wash the kitchen towels once a week.

  • Take out the trash and recycle to prevent the build-up of waste in the apartment at least once per week.

Monthly

  • Remember to check once a month if the dishwasher is filled with rinse aid and dishwasher salt.

  • Descale the kettle once a month with diluted vinegar.

🛁 Bathroom

Daily

  • Use the squeegee and remove access water after taking a shower.

  • Hang the shower curtain over the shower faucet to prevent mold accumulation.

  • Remove hair from the shower drain after taking a shower.

  • Wipe down mirrors and sinks after use to remove any water spots or toothpaste residue.

  • Empty the dryer filters for fluff and water after every use.

Weekly

  • Open up the shower drain and clean the filter weekly.

  • Wash bathroom mats weekly.

  • Clean the toilet bowl, seat, and lid weekly with toilet cleaner and a scrub brush.

  • Clean all tiles with a damp cloth and either a bathroom cleaner or a mixture of water and vinegar weekly.

  • Wipe down the shower and bathtub on a weekly basis, paying close attention to the shower head and faucet to prevent limescale building up.

🛋️ Common areas

Daily

  • Clean up after yourself and leave the area tidy.

Weekly

  • Regularly dust and vacuum your common areas to remove any dust or hair that may have accumulated.

  • Sweep and mop the floors to remove any dirt or debris that may have accumulated.

  • Put away any clutter or items that are not being used to keep the apartment looking clean and organised.

🛏️ Bedroom

Daily

  • Open the windows and air out your bedroom on a daily basis to prevent mold accumulation.

Weekly

  • Dust and vacuum your bedroom to remove any dust or hair that may have accumulated.

  • Sweep and mop the floors to remove any dirt or debris that may have accumulated.

  • Change and wash your linen and towels every two weeks.

📆 Ideas for cleaning schedules:

We understand that everyone has different schedules and may not be able to complete all of these tasks. If everyone does their part in keeping up with the daily tasks, the upkeep of your apartment will be much easier.

We have included a suggested cleaning schedule that you can use as a guide to make sure that your apartment’s weekly and monthly tasks are also taken care of:

Cleaning schedule for a 3-bedroom apartment:

  • Week 1 - Housekeeper

  • Week 2 - Room 1

  • Week 3 - Housekeeper

  • Week 4 - Room 2

  • Week 5 - Housekeeper

  • Week 6 - Room 3

Cleaning schedule for a 4-bedroom or more apartment:

We suggest that if your apartment is 4 bedrooms or larger, you split the workload between two rooms at a time:

  • Week 1 - Housekeeper

  • Week 2 - Room 1 and 2

  • Week 3 - Housekeeper

  • Week 4 - Room 3 and 4

  • Week 5 - Housekeeper

  • Week 6 - Room 5 and 6

Remember, this schedule is just a suggestion and can be adjusted to fit your personal schedule and preferences. We suggest you write the rotation system on your whiteboard.

The most important thing is to make sure that you are doing your part in maintaining a clean and tidy home for all to enjoy.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping your apartment clean and orderly. We know that by working together, we can create a comfortable and welcoming home for everyone.
