At LifeX, we’re all about flexibility and community. If you’re planning a short stay in another LifeX city, we encourage you to arrange a room swap with another member. It’s a great way to explore a new place while staying within the comfort of the LifeX network. 🏙️🌍
We currently offer homes in Copenhagen, Oslo, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, and Paris — giving you a variety of exciting destinations to choose from!
📝 How to Arrange a Swap
1. Post Your Request in the App
To begin, you’ll need to find a member in your desired city who’s also open to swapping rooms.
Follow these steps:
➡️ LifeX App > Feed > Tap the ✒️ Feather icon (bottom right)
➡️ Choose your audience (e.g., the city you'd like to visit)
➡️ Write a post expressing your interest and available dates

If a member responds and has agreed to a swap, please make sure that the agreement is mutual. LifeX will not be responsible for any miscommunications between members.Confirm the Swap Agreement
Once you’ve found a match and both parties agree, please make sure that:
The agreement is mutual
You send a screenshot of the conversation or a short written confirmation to our team via the in-app support chat
Clearly include the dates and names of the members involved
⚠️ Please note: LifeX is not liable for miscommunications or breaches in member-to-member agreements. These are privately arranged and member-managed swaps.
3. Notify Your Flatmates
Before finalizing the swap, it is essential to inform your housemates. As the swap affects shared living space, we require that all residents are aware and comfortable with the arrangement.
🚫 If your flatmates haven’t been informed in advance, LifeX reserves the right to reject the swap request.
🛑 Important Notes
❗ Vacant rooms may not be used for swaps, as these are not prepared or maintained for temporary stays.
🔑 The original room holder remains responsible for the condition of the room. Any damage or missing keys will be charged to the person listed on the LifeX lease.
